PHUKET GOVERNOR ORDERED TO CLOSE RAWAI

Phuket Governor has issued Phuket Annoucement number 1826/2563 subject to ‘RAWAI AREA CLOSURE’

.

People will not allow neither entry nor exit Rawai area except consumer product transportation, ambulance and relevant person who do have grant permission from government officers.

Effective from April 6, 2020.

There will be 2 check points in Rawai area which is
.
1. Check point between Raiwai and Karon, on Rob Koh Road (The way to Karon View Point)

2. Tesco Lotus Rawai check point, on Wiset Road.

Then Phuket Public Health officers with Rawai Municipality officers will go checking every single person in area for body temperature measurement.

Order of Phuket Province No. 1826/2563
Title: Closure of High Risk Venues to curb the spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Rawai Sub-District, Muang District, Phuket Province
.
As the situation regarding the spread of the Coronavirus or COVID-19 continues unabated and has spread to many countries throughout the world, The Health Ministry made an announcement on 26 February, 2020 detailing the name of the virus and the symptoms of the virus (3rd edition) This virus, Coronavirus 2019 or COVID -19 is to be considered a high
risk virus according to the Communicable Disease Act of B.E.2558 (2015). The Prime Minister with the agreement of the Cabinet on March 25, 2020 therefore announced that all areas of Thailand are under a state of emergency due to the Coronavirus.

.With regards to Phuket province, it is noticed that the number of cases is increasing at a fast rate ,and Rawai Municipality issued the letter number PK 52801.8/608 dated on April 3, 2020 offering the measures for solving this problem.
.
The Governor of Phuket Province according to the meeting session no. 16/2563 of the Committee of Communicable Disease of Phuket dated on Apnl 5, 2020, and in accordance with section 22, Section 34 (7) and Section 35 (1X2X3) of the Communicable Disease Act, B.E. 2558 (2015), and article 7(1), 1, 10, 11 and 13, section 9 of the Emergency Decree on Public Administration in an Emergency Situation, B.E. 2548 (2005) (version 1) ordered as follows:
.
1. As Rawai Area in Muang District, Phuket is an area that is susceptible to the spread of the Coronavirus COVID-19, therefore in order to prevent further spread either directly or indirectly to other persons it is therefore forbidden for the public to enter or exit this area with the exception of vehicles transporting consumer goods and products, cooking gas, fuel, medical equipment, emergency vehicles, ambutances, vehicles on official
government business, vehicles transporting parcels and printed items for which the aforementioned persons must follow the instructions of the officials of the Department of Contagions Diseases.

2. In order that compliance to number one can be upheld, checkpoints will
be set up to ensure that persons entering or exiting do not have a fever or carry the Corona 2019 or COVID-19 virus at points indicated on the map attached of which all locations are in Rawai Sub-District, Muang District, Phuket Province:
.
(1) Health Checkpoint at the connecting area between Karon Sub-District
and Rawai Sub-District which located at village number.1 and number7 , Robkoh Road, Rawai Sub-District, Munag District.
.
(2) Health Checkpoint located in front of Tesco Lotus department , Rawai
branch on Viset Road, Rawai Sub-District, Muang District.
.
The Munag District, Chalong Police station, and Rawai Municipality integrate to form the operating team at that Checkpoint. The District Chief or Deputy District Chief or any such person who has been authorized to take charge as a leader of the situation has the authority at that Checkpoint with co-operation from the superintendent of Chalong Police Station or any such person who has been authorized to take charge as a vice leader of the
situation at that Checkpoint.

3. The Official from the Department of Contagious Diseases must inspect
persons passing through the Health Checkpoints mentioned in no. 2 in order to prevent and control the disease according to Communicable Disease Act, B.E. 2558 (2015), and article 2, section 9 of the Emergency Decree on Public Administration in
.
4. Measures to prevent and control the Spread of COVID-19 are as follows:
.
(1) The Public Health Department of Phuket together with Muang District
Office and Rawai Municipality should arrange for officials to check all persons who live in all districts of Rawai Sub-District. If any person is found to have symptoms that may indicate the possibility of contracting COVID-19 that person must be taken for quarantine or placed under supervision at a location designated by Phuket Province.
.
(2) Rawai Municipality is to clean all public areas, roads, all homes and
stores in the Rawai Sub-District with disinfectant.
.
(3) Following Order 1797/2563 dated April 2, 2563 to close all hotels in
Phuket Province, if in Rawai Sub-District it is necessary for an employee to enter the hotel to carry out work such as accounting, repairs and maintenance or other, the hotel must arrange accommodation for the employee until such work has been completed in order to avoid
such persons travelling to and from work which could aid in the spread of the virus. If any employee lives outside Phuket Province and wishes to return home, the hotel should present a list to the Official at the Checkpoint (Chatchai Checkpoint) for consideration by April 7, 2020.

5. All persons are requested not to leave their homes in order to avoid
contracting the virus and also to avoid spread of the virus if any person should unknowingly be a carrier of COVID-19.
.
If any person should violate or fail to comply with these regulations according to Article 52 of the Communicable Disease Act, B.E. 2558 (2015) will receive a jail sentence ofno m ore than 1 year and fined no more than 100,000 Baht (One hundred thousand baht only) or both. Furthermore, they may also be penalized according to penalties stated in Article 9 of Article 18 of the Emergency Decree on Public Administration in an Emergency
Situation, B.E. 2548 (2005) (version 1).
