Novotel Phuket Phokeethra participates in the sponsorship of the ‘Bangkok Airways Phuket Half Marathon 2019’
The third edition of the Bangkok Airways Phuket Half Marathon took place on August 4, 2019 and saw more than 5,000 people from regions across the country participating. The annual event began with an opening ceremony that honoured Mr. Pipat Ratchakitprakarn, the Minister of Tourism and Sports, which encouraged a celebratory atmosphere that continued into the event itself.
The marathon was divided into three distinct categories that ranged in difficulty: 5 kilometres, 10 kilometres and the 21 kilometre half marathon. The starting point stood at Saphan Hin, a seaside courtyard recognised as one of Phuket’s most notable landmarks. The scenic running routes took participants past the sea and around the winding streets of Phuket Town, giving them the perfect opportunity to absorb the island’s natural beauty, as well as the area’s unique Sino-Portuguese architecture.
Running a marathon is a rewarding experience in many ways, as individuals benefit both physically and mentally from pushing themselves to reach their goals.
