depa Joins with Partners Continue an Effort on Thai Tourism Recovery,Organizing Digital Proficiency Workshop and Short Courses for IT Developers at the Southern Roadshow

depa joins with partners organized the Digital Proficiency Workshop for Southern Region as part of its extensive year-round Digital Tourism roadshows. Aimed at creating the awareness and encouraging the use of Thailand Connex Platform, activities are put in place to continue promoting human resource development, enhancing digital expertise, and reducing technological-oriented manpower shortage in Thai industries. To widen career opportunities to new graduates, potential start-ups, and interested public, depa also signed memorandums of understanding with some educational institutes, private companies, and digital business networks, to concretely curriculum that execute its digital knowledge and skills.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Nuttapon Nimmanphatcharin, President/CEO of Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa) chairs the opening ceremony of the Digital Proficiency Workshop and Courses for IT Developers – Southern Roadshow was attended by Mr. Pracha Asawateera Vice President Southern District Office of depa, Asst. Prof. Dr. Aziz Nanthaamornphong, Dean of College of Computing, Prince of Songkhla University (Phuket Campus), Asst. Prof. Dr. Hiran Prasarnkan, President of Phuket Rajabhat University, Mr. Sam Tanskul, Managing Director of Krungsri Finnovate and Mr. Vasin Udomratchatavanich, Chief Human Resources Officer of Bank of Ayudhya Public Company Limited (Krungsri).

Asst. Prof. Dr. Nuttapon said that digitization is evolving rapidly in all business dimensions at the present and is playing a major role in the recovery of Thai tourism sector that was severely hit by the pandemic. As a result, depa and its partnership network have joined hands in organizing depa’s Digital Proficiency Workshop and Courses for IT Developers during its southern roadshow under the conceptualized digital infinity model.

This activity aimed at creating awareness and pushing forward the use of digital platform along with promoting a good level of digital skills and proficiency through all spectrums of human assets. So, all industries, especially the tourism segment, will not be lacking a digital workforce. The event also included three short courses for IT developers, namely 1) the Development of Software as a Service (Saas) and Platform as a Service (PaaS), 2) the Development of Mobile Application for Android and iOS, and 3) the Development of Machine Learning, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence related systems.

In addition, depa has signed MoUs with Prince of Songkhla University (Phuket Campus) and Phuket Rajabhat University to support skillful development of graduates and also signed MoUs with private organizations, including Bank of Ayudhya and Krungsri Finnovate, to collaborate on digital knowledge transfer. The MoUs expect to integrate standardized digital skill curriculum, enhance digital proficiency, and create career opportunities, so that it will build a strong ecosystem that connects educational institutions, entrepreneurs, digital startups, and other related organizations together.
