Rotary Club of Bangkok Hosts Concert to Raise Funds for Charity and Showcase Thailand’s Talented Young Musicians
BANGKOK, THAILAND: The Rotary Club of Bangkok, the first Rotary Club in Thailand, has revealed plans to host a major classical concert and gala dinner this month, to raise funds for charitable causes and showcase some of the brightest young musical talents in Thailand.
Hosted on 21st February 2020 in the glamorous Grand Ballroom of the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok, “The Seasons” concert will include performances by the VieTrio, which includes the acclaimed Dr. Paye Srinarong and Parn & Pui Srinarong of Viemus, the International School of Music. They will be supported by the Thai Youth Orchestra, and all guests will also be treated to a sumptuous four-course dinner.
“At the Rotary Club of Bangkok, we are dedicated to helping our community thrive in every way. Events such as this concert achieve this goal on multiple levels; not only do we raise much-needed funding for important projects, we also provide a platform for young stars to shine. By working with organisations like Viemus and the Thai Youth Orchestra, we can promote Thailand’s next generation of musicians,” said Khun Maleeratna Plumchitchom, President of the Rotary Club of Bangkok.
Viemus, the International School of Music, has over 40 years of academic experience. Founded by Prof. Phukorn Srinarong and his family in 2008, Viemus has captivated audiences across six continents. The school currently has two branches in Bangkok, employing over 40 music and dance teachers, with over 300 active students.
Under the Patronage of the late HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana, the Thai Youth Orchestra is one of the Kingdom’s most important musical institutions. For over 30 years, it has supported Thai musicians aged between 10 and 25, regardless of their education and background. To-date, it has produced over 1,500 professional artists who have gone on to forge prestigious international careers.
The Rotary Club of Bangkok’s special fundraising concert will be led by the Thai Youth Orchestra’s acclaimed conductor, Dr. Paye Srinarong. Under his expert direction, the orchestra won the prestigious Summa Cum Laude International Youth Symphony Competition in Vienna in 2017.
Tickets for The Seasons concert are available for THB 3,000, including the four-course gala dinner. The reception will start at 6pm, with the dinner and performance commencing at 7.30pm.
