Tour of Phuket 2023 concludes with Huge Success

Tour of Phuket 2023 has come to a close, and it was such a great success!
Over 200 participants took part in the event, including local and international riders from around
the world. Riders got to explore Phuket and Phang-nga on two wheels and enjoyed the fresh air
and breathtaking views along the route.
The event was organized by Cycosports and Pablo Fitness, a leading sports organizer from
Singapore. The cycling route was carefully planned to take riders through some of the most
beautiful spots, roads along the beach, and the local villages’ rich culture.
The race was divided into 3 stages
STAGE I
March 10, 2023, at Phuket Gateway (Phuket City Gate)
The Individual Time Trail race began at Phuket Gateway today with the first rider setting off at 3
p.m. at the starting line. The race was set over a flat, winding course that cover a distance of 4.48
km. The challenge with some technical turns and headwinds, but weather conditions were perfect
for cycling, with clear skies and a light breeze.

    Overall, it was a great race day and set riders mentally ready for Stage 2, the next day.
    STAGE II
    March 11, 2023 – 151 km. Race with 2 KOM (King of Mountain) points
    Tour of Phuket’s stage 2 started very early in the morning and everyone is anxious to start the
    race. They are all in their attacking mode by the time the pelotons started with a Race Director’s
    car leading vehicle, the teams attacked the race hard. Immediately, the fire was on, Roojai online
    insurance team took the lead in the Elite category, and Peter Pouly is their coach. Roojai team
    took the lead even before the first KOM spot. Although the Matador Racing, and Specialized
    Dynasty Mavericks tried to bring them down, the Roojai team was one minute and thirty seconds
    in front of the pelotons on both the first and second KOM they took the lead until the finish line.
    The award presentation of the day was at the Wave Beach bar where riders enjoyed the famous
    Bangtao beach sunset

    Gran Fondo riders although here to have fun, many complete the beast of the route on Day 2 and
    deserved praise!
    STAGE III
    March 12, 2023 – 111 km. Race with 1 KOM and 2 Sprinter points
    The race started on an early beautiful day in Phuket at 6:30 a.m. everyone took off in more
    strategic mode for the team since they know who’s the leader. Specialize Dynasty Mavericks tried
    to take control of the pelotons but Roojai team was right there, ready to attack, the competition
    was real for the other teams. There were a couple of attacks that tried to get in front but Roojai
    team was determined to keep their leader & KOM jersey, and they took control of the pelotons.
    In the middle of the race, two riders in front took off after the only KOM of the day Roojai Online
    Insurance and AmimoVITAL-Summit tried to fight for the second Sprinter, but the two riders from
    Roojai team pushed really hard. The last 3 km to the finish line leader attacked and went straight
    forward and he cross the finish line with both hands up in victory and celebration.

What a great comeback! The Tour of Phuket 2023 was a great way to promote cycling tourism in
Thailand and an opportunity for riders and locals alike to stay active and healthy while having fun
exploring. It is truly a unique way to experience Thailand’s rich culture and hospitality. The Tour of
